Baltimore-Based Amatus Health Adds Irwin Golob as
Chief Human Resources Officer
GOLOB BRINGS MORE THAN 25 YEARS OF HR EXPERIENCE TO THE
GROWING BEHAVIORAL HEALTH COMPANY
OWINGS MILLS, MD, November 12, 2020 — Amatus Health adds Irwin Golob as Chief Human Resources Officer. Mr. Golob has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in Human Resource Management, both from the University of Maryland. He’s earned his Senior Professional Human Resources Certification and has more than 25 years of experience in the field.
Before joining Amatus, Mr. Golob spent six and a half years with Avesis Incorporated, a subsidiary of The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America. There, he built out the company’s HR operations and strategies by helping the organization attract, retain, and develop successful teams. Prior to Avesis, he spent 15 years at Northrop Grumman in a variety of HR leadership roles.
As part of the Amatus Health Team, Mr. Golob’s near term goals are to develop a consistent onboarding experience for new hires, update the company’s employee handbook, build a compensation system for the company, and improve the performance management process. Over the longer term, he will lead the development and implementation of talent strategies to ensure Amatus and its employees continue to be in a position for growth in the future.
This position is Mr. Golob’s first job in the Behavioral Health sector, a challenge he not only welcomes, but is thrilled to meet.
“The company has experienced remarkable growth in a very short period of time,” he said. “What we’re all here to do is serve the clients of our centers. We have a responsibility to hire the best talent and engage that talent to deliver top-quality care.”
Golob noted that he felt an immediate connection to the energetic and enthusiastic leadership of Amatus Health, including CEO Mark Gold. Per Gold, the feeling is mutual.
“There is a direct connection between having a strong Human Resources department and providing premier substance use and mental health disorder treatment services,” said Gold. “Mr. Golob’s track record in building robust Human Resources teams will no doubt be a boon for our steadily growing roster of employees–but especially our clients.”
