Midwest and Ohio Detox Centers open a 30-day residential treatment center to help the transition from detox to outpatient programs
Maumee, OH, July 20, 2020 — Midwest Detox Center and Ohio Detox Center–both located in Maumee, OH–will expand substance use treatment services to include a 30-day residential program. The much-needed new program will help clients transition from inpatient detox to outpatient treatment. It will operate from 1760 Manley Road in Maumee, a 20,000 square-foot facility with 55 beds.
The program will accept both commercial and Medicaid insurances. It is the first dedicated American Society of Addiction Medicine level 3.5 accredited facility in the Midwest Recovery Center family.
Midwest Recovery Center CEO Matt Bell believes that extending a client’s treatment stay gives them a better chance at staying sober long term.
“Stepping down from detox straight to sober living can certainly work, but sometimes clients aren’t ready for that much freedom. Sometimes they are still experiencing physical withdrawal symptoms,” he said. “The longer someone stays in treatment, the better chances they will have long term. That means more clinical therapy, medication stabilization, peer support, and overall supervision. It’s a safe bubble to take advantage of before you enter back into the world.”
Bell also said the residential program will help those with Substance Use Disorders who do not need detox, but could use additional support before entering an outpatient program.
The new facility, which is tentatively slated to open in August, has been completely made over. It includes flat screen televisions in every room, a movie theater, pinball machines and arcade games, a work out area, and a spacious deck overlooking the creek.
Services offered include but are not limited to individual therapy, group therapy, case management, physical therapy, chiropractic services, yoga, meditation, entertainment activities on the weekends, and family therapy.
