Amatus Hires Aurielle C. Williams, PhD, MBA, LMFT as the Regional Executive Director in Georgia
Williams brings a well-rounded background in mental health, addiction, family dynamics, trauma, criminal justice, suicide prevention, and more to the growing behavioral healthcare company.
Atlanta, Georgia, October 27, 2021—TruHealing Centers welcomes Dr. Aurielle Williams as Regional Executive Director of their Georgia facilities. Dr. Williams brings an extensive clinical, people leadership, business development, and operations management background in the addiction and mental health field.
Dr. Williams has held several positions of increasing scope and responsibility, including serving as the program director for a community-based mental health organization, where she managed a staff of 25+ therapists and served as a crisis counselor for statewide behavioral health concerns. In her most recent position, she was the Director of Physician and Provider Relations for Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) at Eastside Medical Center, now Piedmont Eastside. There, she triaged behavioral health patients and their family members in crisis and was instrumental in the company’s growth—including building an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) within three months.
Dr. Williams received her undergraduate degree from Auburn University, a master’s from Mercer University School of Medicine, a doctorate in Human and Social Services from Walden University, and an MBA in Healthcare Administration from Western Governor’s University. She began her career working with the Department of Juvenile Justice in Georgia, where she received several certifications, including trauma, suicide prevention, and child sexual exploitation (CSEC). These experiences provided her with a deep understanding of the systemic issues that contribute to mental health and addiction, and the breadth of community support needed to help people get and stay sober.
“I want not only to empower my team, but also to understand what makes them passionate about working with this population—while ensuring that our services are ethical, high-quality, satisfy regulatory requirements, and meet patients’ needs,” said Dr. Williams. “It’s about giving them the skills they need to do well on their own. My background has allowed me to know what services are available, where we fit in that continuum of care, and where to direct patients to get what they need.”
Dr. Williams is excited to fill a service gap in Atlanta by expanding to multiple counties across the state. Chris Foster, Vice President of Operations at Amatus Health, agrees that Dr. Williams is the right person for this task. “We know that Aurielle will help us grow tremendously so that we can meet the needs of more clients. She has an incredible range of experience and expertise, which will give her a deep understanding of all the issues our clients face and how they can get what they need to thrive. We are thrilled to have her on board.”
