Baltimore-Based Amatus Health Adds Mary McGeady as Director of Amatus Foundation
McGEADY BRINGS MORE THAN 30 YEARS OF NONPROFIT MANAGEMENT AND DIRECTION TO THE
BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE COMPANY
OWINGS MILLS, MD, January 13, 2021 — Amatus Health adds Mary McGeady as Director of the Amatus Foundation, the company’s new nonprofit committed to providing training, outreach, and substance use prevention services to the community. Ms. McGeady has extensive experience in the nonprofit sector, including 26 years in managerial and directorial roles. She plans to secure the 501(c)(3) designation for the foundation, identify new grant opportunities, and engage the board of directors.
Prior to joining the Amatus team, Ms. McGeady worked for House of Ruth Maryland for 20 years, where she held roles as Director of Finance and Administration and Chief Operating Officer. In these roles, she was responsible for overseeing all finance, accounting, grants and data management, facility functions, IT, Human Resources departments and social enterprise activity.
Her new position at Amatus is her first foray into the substance use disorder field, a learning experience Ms. McGeady welcomes.
“I’ve never worked in substance use before, so that’s a new area of learning and understanding that excites me,” she said. “Building something from the ground up is always very exciting. It gives you the opportunity to bring a new point of view to what the future vision of the organization can be.”
Amatus Health CEO Mark Gold is eager to expand the company’s outreach and education services to the general public; he expresses with utmost confidence that Ms. McGeady is the right choice for the nonprofit’s Director.
“Amatus Health is helping to change the lives of thousands of individuals each year,” he said. “Once the nonprofit Amatus Foundation is underway, we’ll be able to engage communities outside of only our treatment facilities. Ms. McGeady’s decades-long track record of leadership at House of Ruth leaves me with no doubt that our nonprofit will help educate the public, engage communities, and save lives.”
Amatus Health is a nationally accredited behavioral health system, operating 14 centers in six states across the nation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
