Baltimore-Based Amatus Recovery Centers Will Manage Friendship House in New Hampshire
THE NATIONAL BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE COMPANY BRINGS MANAGEMENT EXPERTISE TO CELEBRATED NEW HAMPSHIRE SUBSTANCE USE TREATMENT FACILITY
OWINGS MILLS, MD, March 3, 2020 — The Baltimore-based TruHealing Centers has taken on management duties for the substance use treatment facility in Bethlehem, New Hampshire formally known as Friendship House. AHEAD, a Littleton organization, will still maintain ownership of Friendship House. In its new role, Amatus will maintain strong relationships with AHEAD, North Country Health Consortium, and other local resources to provide premier substance use treatment to New Hampshire, with a strong focus on the North Country Region. Prior to launching the program, Amatus will be rebranding, including renaming the program New Hampshire Detox.
Amatus is working diligently with the New Hampshire Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Services to attain a facility license, and with the state of New Hampshire to expand their Medicaid contract. In New Hampshire they offer services through Blueprint Recovery Center in Concord and Bonfire Behavioral Health in the Seacoast area.
Amatus is expanding the current services offered by adding detox to the already structured residential and outpatient levels. TruHealing Centers’ team members are excited to now be able to admit 24/7, including transportation anywhere within 3 hours of Friendship House.
TruHealing Centers’ Vice President of Operations Christopher Foster notes that Friendship House holds a special place in the hearts of thousands of individuals and families. Foster looks forward to developing his relationship with current and new team members, as well as the local community.
“It’s an absolute honor to operate a residential detox facility in my home state. More than that, in a state that greatly needs resources for those in need. I am not sure this would have been possible without the help of AHEAD, NCHC, BDAS, and DHHS.” Foster said. “The opioid epidemic has not spared any state, but especially not New Hampshire. What we’re doing here is an essential and much-needed service. It’s with immense gratitude that we begin our partnership with a facility such as Friendship House.”
TruHealing Centers’ Chief Operations Officer, Michael Silberman, echoes Foster’s sentiment, adding that expanding Medicaid services will open the door for many more individuals to enter recovery.
“There is a lack of resources in the North Country of New Hampshire,” Silberman said. “Friendship House is one of the only services of its kind. It is an honor and privilege to partner with AHEAD and NCHC, and to prioritize expanding Medicaid services so that no one in New Hampshire is left behind.”
