[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Nate Kehlmeier is the Senior Business Development Representative at Midwest Recovery Center in Toledo, Ohio. He grew up in Genoa, Ohio, where he began using drugs at an early age. Kehlmeier found himself in and out of treatment centers and in trouble with the law. He finally surrendered on January 18, 2008.
After a traumatic incident on that day, Kehlmeier turned himself in to the police and was eventually court-ordered to attend a drug and alcohol treatment program in Toledo. Upon graduating, he moved to Boca Raton, Florida to live in a halfway house. It was there that things began to look up for Kehlmeier.
After working in a hotel in Boca Raton for a year, he made his first entry into the addiction treatment field, taking on a job as a behavioral health technician and eventually a BHT supervisor. Before coming back to Ohio five years ago, Kehlmeier worked as Program Director, Director of Admissions, and Director of Business Development at a treatment facility and ran a halfway house.
Upon returning to Ohio, Kehlmeier became Director of Admissions for the brand new Midwest Recovery Center in 2017.
“Midwest was so needed in Ohio,” he said. “We were a great resource then and still are now. We were in recovery, we were young and we wanted to make a big impact in the community.”
Now, as the Senior Business Development Representative, Kehlmeier believes that what makes Midwest stand out among the many treatment centers across the nation is its compassionate staff and resource-rich setting in Toledo.
“Most of our staff are in recovery,” he said. “They’ve been there. They’ve been through it. The staff is passionate about having people change their lives and get better. A lot of facilities are not in cities like Toledo. Toledo has a lot of resources. When I got clean, I needed a lot more than partial hospitalization programs. I needed resources to help me out.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
